Who is the Adirondack Artist?

The Adirondack Artist, William P. Wiatr, lives in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains with his wife. He was introduced to painting at an early age by his grandmother, who "gave her all" to see the gift blossom within him. William has had no formal training. He says “It is a gift from the Lord”.

William started painting around 1976. Hundreds of his paintings and prints are all over the world. He paints the Adirondack Mountains, lakes and wildlife. William custom mattes and frames all his Lumira and Giclee fine art prints.

William currently has many prints available, of which are viewable through this website. He also makes a variety of old barn siding frames, and custom matte work to make the perfect gift for yourself or someone special.

Thank you for taking the time to share the Adirondack Artists’ dream.

About the Adirondack Artist

With great respect and a responsibility only I can know in my heart, the Creator of the universe has let me express his beauty through my ability as an artist (that he gave me)!

The respect is for his awesome creative power and the responsibility is for me to remind others of his great love for all of his creation!  These words are etched on my heart, given to me and are true.

To all the Artists in the world I envy their ability to paint with such detail and likeness to nature.  I desire to be the same but not yet perfected.

I give thanks to my Lord and Savior for the gift I have been given.

Yours in Christ,

William P. Wiatr

The Adirondack Artist uses the following mediums:

Blending rustic craftsmanship with expressive artistry, each piece is thoughtfully created using acrylic paints on tempered hardboard, transforming unconventional materials into timeless works of art.

Every artwork is uniquely framed by hand using reclaimed barnwood, preserving the natural character, texture, and history of the wood itself.

In addition to original pieces, high-quality photographic paper prints are produced using Frontier and large-format digital imaging technology, and mounted on to acid-free foamboard, allowing the depth, color, and detail of each work to be beautifully preserved. Each piece is double matted with acid-free material, available within a variety of colors, and protected by single strength glass.

Giclée canvas reproductions are mounted onto primed and tempered hardboard, then sealed with a vacuum press, offering museum-quality texture, rich color accuracy, and exceptional detail designed to capture the character and feel of the original artwork.

The result is a collection that merges fine art with rustic design — creating warm, authentic statement pieces for any space.
